Obverse: Crowned bust , right. Rim inscription, "ВЕЛ•КН•Н•НИКОЛАЕВИЧЪ• ВИЦЕКОРОЛЬ•КАВКАЗКIЙ , 1915". GRAND DUKE N NIKOLAYEVICH VICEKING OF CAUCASUS. Dated, 1915. Goetz mispelled КАВКАЗСКIЙ as КАВКАЗКIЙ. Reverse: Nicholas as Prometheus, chained to a rock with an eagle eating his liver. Incised 'K•Goetz' on rim next to his left hand. Created to commemorate the deposition of the Grand Duke by the Russian Czar. |
