Obverse: The English Tommy, President Poincare, Czar of Russia, and the King of Italy kneeling in a suppliant attitude. Legend, "Der Bittgang am Balkan 1915" (Supplication to the Balkans). Reverse: Behind lathwork three medallions of sovereigns, viz, of Rumania, Greece and Bulgaria; Ferdinand of Rumania Constantine of Greece Ferdinand of Bulgaria. On the lathwork are suspended sacrifices; a dolphin (England) vomiting money, with collar marked "Gross" (Great Britain); lemons (Italy); a bleeding heart (France); and a strong fist (Russia) with sleeve marked "Russ". In exergue, "Hilfe! Balkan! Streit fiir uns" (Help, Balkans, fight for us). |
